Friendship

Friendship isn't always what you expect it to be and can be a wonderous adventure that can go almost anywhere

Friendship is almost never dull since friends are usually comfortable enough to make fools of themselves and each other

friendship may only last a few days or it can last a lifetime

friendship when the friends care show their support in ways that are not always easy to express

friendship provides a level of trust between two or more people that cannot come from any other source

friendship in the end allows people to be friends to the end

I will be there

I Will Be There

When you feel like there is no light to guide you and you feel lost and alone
All you have to do is call my name and I will be there

While looking ahead all you see are hopes and dreams that have seen better days
And wishing that you had someone to walk beside you I will be there to take
You from the ruins and out of the wreckage

As time goes by and you feel like you weigh less than a shadow on the wall that
Cannot release the anger you have deep down inside, I will be there to lift you up to
Show that you are more than a whisper of a voice unheard

As you start to feel the pain inside of you, you feel as if you have locked yourself up
In the chains that have conquered others even though it isn’t fair for you to feel
That way inside and as the chains start to tighten their grip I will be there to help you
Break those chains and to show you that you don’t have to hold yourself down
And show you that all you have to do is hold on for things to go your way

With the days going by the only regret would be that you would not have been there
For me to call a real friend when I needed a friend and someone to believe in just as much as you needed
the same from me

In This Time…

In this time of giving how can we turn a blind eye to those in need
As we give gifts to those we love as if we don’t see those in need

In this time for which we are suppose to show the world that we
Are better people than others may think

In this time how could we not help those of us that are in need
Where one day the tables could be turned on us

In this time how can we care for just of those for which we love
When we are taught to care for all as if they are our own

In this time we need to remember to thank those who have given
Everything that they are to help those who need the most help

In this time we need to live up to our beliefs and our principles
In ways that show others that we really do care for others

In this time we should honor those who have given of themselves
Without regard to their own needs and with out question

In this time we need to show those who are down that there is more
To life than what they have been shown

In this time of need we should stop to think of the fact that we could have
Been in the position of needing to ask for help despite ones desire to do
For oneself

In this time, at the end of the day as you start to ponder what the day
Has brought you, you find that you are asking yourself can I really
Live with myself if I am not there to help someone when the night comes

In this time, would you be willing to be there to help someone to pick up
The pieces of their shattered dream when they appear to be a lost soul

In this time, you ponder whether or not someone would be there for you after
Acting as if they were not there when the shoe was on the other foot

In this time of need and sacrifice we need to remember those who have sacrificed
The most and that have sacrifices it all to make this a better place for all of us
For with out their sacrifice we could not have become who we are today

In this time we need to remember that any donation however small helps
Whether it be a few cents, some gently used clothing or spending time
Just being there with someone who hasn’t the people to be with

The tie that binds

When you are the tie that binds you find that you can’t
Just walk the line; you are the one that has to tow the line

You find that to just walk the line will not let you get by with
All of those who need you to be there

When you tow the line everyone thinks that you are just a pain
When they would like to do what they want

As you learn to tow the line you find that there is no greater
Job out there and not everyone be the tie that binds

When time goes by you find that being the tie that binds it is easy
To make people think you are just walking the line even when you
Are really towing the line

As you stop your crying and see that everything is all right you see that
There is someone there to hold you warm in their strong arms and find
That they had to hide their crying to be strong for you and with you

Even though you seem so small you appear to have the strength to keep me
Here with you wanting to be strong for you until you have it in you to
Be strong for those who need the strength in those times they need someone
There to hold them tight and safe when the world seems like it’s against them
Until you’ve shown that there is someone there for them to be strong for

Taking a Stand

As each day goes by, you see and hear stuff that makes you feel like
All you can do is sit by watching it all happen

As the plight of others gets worse you start wondering to yourself is this what
My life is for and asking why the world has to be the way it is

When the turmoil appears to be at its worst, you wonder if your life was meant to be
Wasted in a world full of pain and sorrow

As the outlook looks bleak and no one appears to be doing anything at all you start
Feeling as if you can no longer just sit around anymore forcing you to stand up and fight

You see others who feel the same way then you notice that for many of those you see, your
Actions are a rallying call in coming out and saying we’re not going to take it anymore

As each person stand up to fight it says in a unifying voice that we cannot go quietly into the night
Forcing the shake up of the status quo while showing others that there is something better, something far better then what they have been shown that life should be or needs to be
Which gives you the diligence to do more and do your best

How do you know when the time is right to let someone know that you are
Interested in them when each time you meet the situation doesn’t permit it to be

How do you show then heart and soul when the timing never allows you to show them

How do you show the openness needed to let someone know when you are ready to go
Beyond the awkwardness that the both of you feel in each others presence

How do you let that someone know without letting certain others know about your feelings
When it comes to that someone

How do you let that someone know how you feel without knowing if they are ready to
Hear what you are ready to share with them

How do you know when that someone is waiting for you to come out and bear your soul to them

Children, they are our future

Children should not be troubled with adult worries

Children need to be protected while taught to defend themselves

Children should be cherished

Children need our support and given a sense of direction

Children need to learn to be their own people free from the parental
Insecurity that so many have

Children most of all loved and understood

Why is it that in times of great adversity that the best or the worst
In us will be brought out

Why is it that during disasters all we want to be is Superman but all we
End up doing is Hulk around while taking it all in

Why is it that we almost never see the short sightedness of our ways until
It is too late to stave off the short comings

Why is it that we have allowed ourselves to become complacent enough that
We just don’t care about the world beyond ourselves

Why is it that we have become a society that is so paranoid that we have become
Afraid of our own shadow and hide behind that fear

Why is it that we lose sight of our hopes and dreams as we get older

Why is it that we can never agree on anything when we try running our countries

Why is it that we have lost sight of the truths that we believe to be self evident to our
Way of life

Safe and Warm

When your heart wants to remember, you feel a yearning for what you use
To know, that comes from the memories you hold dear inside.

The feeling of wanting to be safe and warm in someone’s arms comes over you
As your heart yearns to recall those times when you had someone who would
Be there for you and you for them

As the memories try coming back to you a wave of pure happiness comes to life inside
That helps bring back the memories, the memories of the people who have kept
You safe and warm under their wings allowing love to grow inside while allowing you
To become the person they need in return

As the memories start coming back it is only the happy memories that come back giving
You the strength to be who you must while finding someone who can keep you safe
And warm when you need them there
